The government on Friday offered international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) to cooperate with it in the fight against coronavirus in the country.
A senior official said that Ministry of Interior has offered 70 INGOs which had singed memorandum of understanding (MoUs) with it to cooperate with the government and issued new directives in this regard. He said that the INGOs had to identify their action plan and target areas.
According to new directives, no objection certificates (NOCs) will not be required due to current emergency situation, he said, adding that INGOs would work with the Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs) and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). He said that the exemption from NOC was allowed only for coronavirus relief activities and only for a period of six months for working with the PDMAs and the NDMA. The official said that only those INGOs would be allowed to work on their action plan, which had signed MoUs with the government. The name of 70 INGOs will be released soon, he said.
The official said that the government had allowed INGOs to work on their plan of action under eight scheduled categories. The INGOs will submit its project completion report within 15 days with the approval of the relevant agencies, he said.
