Activities at Karachi Port and Port Qasim

The Karachi Port handled 68,814 tonnes of cargo comprising 36,939 tonnes of import cargo and 31,875 tonnes of export cargo including 3,187 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.

The Karachi Port handled 68,814 tonnes of cargo comprising 36,939 tonnes of import cargo and 31,875 tonnes of export cargo including 3,187 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.
The total import cargos of 36,939 tonnes comprised of 19,836 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,436 tonnes of general cargo; 3,731 tonnes of bulk cargo and 9,936 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 31,875 tonnes comprised of 8,398 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5,886 tonnes of general cargo and 17,591 tonnes of bulk cargo.
As many as 3,187 containers comprising of 1,455 containers of import and 1,732 containers of export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 369 of 20's and 438 40's loaded while 126 of 20's and 42 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 134 of 20's and 168 of 40's loaded containers while 90 of 20's and 586 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely Thorsky, Al Yasat-II, VTC Glory and Ocean Success carrying containers, chemical, DAP and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were two vessels carrying containers currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 152,326 tonnes comprising of 131,692 tonnes of import cargo and 20,634 tonnes of export cargo including 1,553 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 131,692 tonnes includes 72,000 tonnes of coal; 5,959 tonnes of palm oil; 2,732 tonnes of palm kernel; 11,036 tonnes of soyabean; 30,892 tonnes of LNG and 8,873 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 20,634 tonnes includes 20,634 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 1,553 containers comprising of 467 containers import and 1,086 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
There were four ship namely Safmarine Ngami, Port Kalang, Al-Khairtyat and Chem Ranger carrying containers, LNG and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ship namely Kennadi carrying coal is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine ships were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean, LNG, palm kernel and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as fourteen vessels viz. Aga Mamnon, OOCL Atlanta, Kota Nekad, Pacific Honor, BW Kobe, Klara Oldendroff, Tiger Winter, Gas Amazon, Tomson Gas, Wi Force, Gaslog Chelsea, Eco, Asia Inspire and Horizon carrying containers, coal, soyabean, canola, chemical, LPG, LNG and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were six ships viz. Aga Mamnon, Kota Nekad, MSC Noa, Pacific Honor, Gaslog Chelsea and Asia Inspire carrying containers, coal, LNG and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday. There was no ship due to arrive on Monday.
