New westerly weather system to unleash rains: Met
The Met Office on Monday forecast another westerly weather system for the country, which is expected to unleash rain until next Wednesday.
Under the influence of this system scattered rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds and a few hailstorms is expected in Quetta, Zhob, Pashin, Harnai, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Panjgur, Ziarat, Kalat, Mastung, Musa Khail and Barkhan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Okara, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Khanpur, Lodhran, Layya, Muzaffargarh and Vehari on Tuesday.
Similarly, a widespread rain-thunderstorm (with isolated heavy falls) and a few hailstorm is also expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mianwali, Sargodha, Khushab, Bhakkar, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sheikhupura, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Hafizabad and Narowal besides Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir until Wednesday.
Dust-thunderstorm rain is also expected in Sukkur, Shaheed Benazirabad and Jacobabad on Tuesday.
In the next 24 hours, rain-thunderstorm is expected in all districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, upper/central Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. However, dry and partly cloudy weather is expected elsewhere in the country.
In the past 24 hours, a light rain occurred in districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. A maximum rainfall was recorded in Parachinar 8mm, Bannu 2mm and Quetta 1mm. Minimum temperature was minus 1 Celsius in Kalam.
Weather in Karachi is expected to remain sunny with a maximum temperature up to 34 degrees Celsius and 75 percent humidity.
