Revenue collection: FBR asks govts to exempt tax officials from lockdown

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has requested the federal and the provincial governments to make the FBR's field offices (Customs/Inland Revenue) fully operational and exempt the tax officials of the FBR from lockdown to maximise revenue collection in the last quarter (April-June) of 2019-2020.
In this regard, the FBR has issued a circular to all the relevant authorities and agencies in the federal and the provincial governments here on Monday.
According to the FBR, in view of COVID-19 pandemic, the federal and the provincial governments have introduced various measures to contain the spread of the virus, which includes lockdowns across the country.
The personnel of essential services and few other agencies have been exempted from these lockdown.
