Launch deferred till today

Prime Minister Imran Khan Tuesday deferred the formal launch of 'Corona Relief Tiger Force' till today (Wednesday) amid strong reservations expressed by opposition political parties.
No reason was given for deferment of the launch by the Prime Minister, as he was scheduled to formally launch the registration process of the volunteers on Tuesday at 9:00pm aimed at distribution of relief items among the deserving families.
However, an official of the Ministry of Youth Affairs, the leading agency to supervise the volunteers, told Business Recorder that the launching ceremony was deferred till Wednesday due to a technical fault in the mobile application - Pakistan Citizen Portal - which allows the youth to get themselves registered.
Usman Dar, the Prime Minister's special assistant on Youth Affairs, while speaking to a private news channel, said that the application was opened for registration process on test run on Tuesday, claiming that 32,000 youth of the countries get themselves registered initially.
He further said that in the 50-minute test run, the website received almost 0.4 million hits. He said that after completion of the registration process, the data collection will be competed till April 10 in which details of the deserving families will be collected from across the country.
