In the age of hacking and data theft, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has shared important information as to how can the public protect themselves from WhatsApp data theft, which has become a common practice these days.
Asif Iqbal Chaudhry, Assistant Director of the FIA ??Cyber ??Crime Wing, in his video message explained how people's WhatsApp data is stolen.
He said that if a person's mobile phone is unlocked which is in case of repair or for any other purpose, the hacker will log in to WhatsApp Web, the hacker only has to scan the QR code of WhatsApp web from the mobile and in seconds the hacker will be logged into it, all the people's data and chat history is captured by the hacker and one can use the stolen data to blackmail people.
Chaudhry explained how to avoid WhatsApp data theft and said that many people have no knowledge of the number of devices their WhatsApp is logged in, so they should go to mobile phone settings and check. WhatsApp is not logged in to the web; it also has an option in WhatsApp settings that you can log out of everywhere, in order to keep the data protected.
