President for collaboration among depts to fight against Covid-19
President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi has emphasized upon close collaboration among various departments for an effective fight against coronavirus and called for keeping the data up-to-date.
The president said this during his visit to Corona Crisis Management Cell (CCMC) set up in Civil Secretariat, Lahore, to control and cope with the effects of pandemic. He also stressed proper publicity of departmental helplines to create awareness and facilitate the general public.
Dr Arif Alvi lauded the performance of provincial government in smooth running of the Corona Crisis Management Cell. The cell maintains a round-the-clock monitoring of the problems arising in the wake of coronavirus across all districts of the province. It also works as liaison among relevant departments. The president was given a briefing on working of the cell which works under the home department.
Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid and Information Minister Fayyaz Chohan accompanied the president during his visit to the Cell.
President Alvi also stressed upon provision of best medical facilities to the patients of Coronavirus with their treatment on utmost priority.
Meanwhile, Chairing a meeting at the Civil Secretariat to review the situation of Coronavirus in Punjab, the president called for ensuring quality environment for the suspected patients kept at the isolation centers.
Chief Secretary Punjab briefed Alvi about the steps taken by the provincial government to control the spread of Covid-19 including the facilities being provided at quarantine centers. He told the meeting that restrictions on intra-province travel were still in place.
Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid said every possible step was being taken to ensure best medical treatment at hospitals, besides safety measures for doctors and paramedics.
