Ex-FPCCI chief demands special package for industries
The Secretary-General of the United Business Group (UBG) and former president of the FPCCI, Zubair Tufail, has urged Prime Minster Imran Khan to announce special incentive package for all the industries similar to the package announced recently for the construction industry.
He said that the coronavirus ended business activities, and export orders had been canceled, industrial wheels jammed, and the workers were sitting at their homes because of zero industrial activities.
Zubair Tufail said that the State Bank of Pakistan should immediately reduce the markup rate to 5 percent because in this situation and for the next one year no industry would be able to pay any markup. He said that worldwide markup was being abolished.
He said that Pakistan was in a serious trouble right now because of the coronavirus.
"We should pray to Allah to help us get rid of the coronavirus pandemic," he said.
In these circumstances, the requirement was that the Pakistani people remained confined to their homes.
He said that the government should use all possible resources to alleviate the problems of the people in the situation of the lockdown.
