Following criticism by medical professionals on using N-95 mask at a meeting, President Arif Alvi has issued a clarification on Thursday.
In a tweet from his official Twitter handle, the president started by saying that being a doctor himself, he is strongly aware of misuse and wastage. He continued that the N-95 mask he used was one which was provided to him in China and he was reusing it.
"Finally its strap broke yesterday so in next meeting at Wing Commander Nouman Akram Shaheed's house, you see me wearing a regular public mask," the president tweeted.
He added that he hopes his clarification finds equal billing.

The president chaired a meeting on Wednesday by the Punjab government regarding coronavirus at the Civil Secretariat in Lahore. He had also addressed the participants on the occasion.
However, him wearing a N-95 mask was not met with approval by the health professionals. The medical professionals claimed that personal protective equipment was being 'misused' by politicians.
