Female SHO injured in Orangi Town for enforcing Friday prayers restrictions
- Sharafat Khan was appointed as SHO last week.
A female SHO was injured after residents of Karachi’s Orangi Town area pelted her with stones when she tried to stop people from gathering for Friday prayers.
In a video on social media, SHO Sharafat Khan can be seen leading a team to stop the people from gathering for the prayers which has been banned by the government in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The officer was injured after officials tried to take action against those violating the lockdown imposed. The officer with blood on her nose can be heard saying that she was attacked and even her glasses broker.
After the prayers were over, Khan’s team made a video of all the people leaving the mosque. Case will be registered against those who attacked police, local media reported. Sharafat Khan was appointed as SHO 10 days ago.

This is the bravest thing to do by the officer. In addition to enforcing the law , being a Pukhtun/female she has also slapped patriarchy & bigotry .
Knowing fully well what happened to a police party last week she went to just her personal security detail.#COVID19 #coronavirus pic.twitter.com/yjSrLJWqo9
