  • The federal minister further added that teams have been constituted which will provide training to the government hospital staff on how to operate a ventilator.

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Friday has offered private hospital free ventilators repair facility.

However, there is a catch the private hospitals would need to provide a ventilator facility for free to the coronavirus patients if the need arises.

“Pakistan engineering institutes have repaired about 150 malfunctioning ventilators so far; if your ventilator is not functioning at a private hospital, we will repair your ventilator for free only on the promise that you will provide the ventilator facility for free to the coronavirus patients if the need arises. The service will be provided free of charge,” said Chaudhry in a series of tweets.

The federal minister further added that teams have been constituted which will provide training to the government hospital staff on how to operate a ventilator.

“One problem in many government hospitals is that ventilators are present but one doesn’t know how to use them,” he said. “In Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar, teams have been formed that will give hospital staff free training on how to operate the ventilators. We recommend that hospital authority to avail this opportunity,” he added
