Cabinet decides to extend lockdown across country till April 30
- Decision has been taken keeping in view the increasing number of coronavirus cases and economic situation in the country.
- Cabinet decided that apart from opening the construction industry, other economic and financial sectors will also be made operational.
(Karachi) The cabinet has decided to extend lockdown in the country till April 30, media has reported.
The decision was taken in the cabinet meeting that was chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday. The decision has been taken keeping in view the increasing number of coronavirus cases and economic situation in the country.
During the meeting, it has been decided that apart from opening the construction industry, other economic and financial sectors will also be made operational.
The final approval to extend the lockdown will be given in the National Coordination Committee meeting.
So far, there are 5, 782 confirmed coronavirus cases in the country while 96 deaths have been recorded. At least, 1,378 patients have recovered from the disease.
More than 1,500 cases have emerged in Sindh, 2, 826 in Punjab, 800 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 231 in Balochistan, 131 in Islamabad, 233 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 43 cases in Azad Kashmir.
