Sindh High Court (SHC) Wednesday acquitted Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Aamir Khan in a double-murder case. A division bench of SHC set aside the punishment of Aamir Khan and co-accused Tariq Bata in double-murder case in 2004 and ordered their release from jail. Aamir Khan secured the bail from the court in 2009 in the case.
Aamir Khan -then leader of Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi- was charged with abetting of targeted killing of activities of Muttahida Qaumi Movement during the election campaign in 2003. An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) sentenced him along with co-accused to ten-year imprisonment in 2004.
