Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has so far brought back 1800 stranded Pakistanis from different parts of the world during Covid-19 crisis. According to details, the airline through continuous relief flights brought nearly 1800 Pakistanis back during Covid19 crisis.

PIA brought back 377 passengers from Toronto, more than 140 from Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, 136 from Iraq, 125 from Azerbaijan, more than 430 from Japan, Thailand and Malaysia while nearly 200 stranded Pakistanis from Istanbul through 11 relief flights.

PIA is operating relief flights to some destinations where it does not even have a regular flight operation for which special permissions are sought in the shortest possible time for the convenience of the stranded Pakistanis.

The airline is operating relief flights as well as chartered flights to and from Pakistan, PIA spokesman said and added that the airline's relief flight operation was continuing and some additional flights would be operated from April 15 to April 19.

These flights include (Islamabad to Toronto on April 15, Islamabad to Manchester on April 16 and 18 and two flights (Karachi to Jakarta on April 18 and Karachi to Toronto on April 19.

PIA is taking all precautionary measures for prevention against covid-19 and the aircrafts are being thoroughly disinfected and ensuring the availability of all necessary gears to its cabin, cockpit and ground staff.

In addition, the passengers upon return are also taken to a hotel for quarantine and testing purposes. PIA through relief and chartered flights carried over 11200 passengers to and from Pakistan to various international destinations, PIA spokesman said.
