ICBC pledges Rs 36.68 millions support for Covid-19 response
The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) has pledged Rs36.68 million support towards the Covid-19 response in Pakistan. The first batch of medical equipment support to National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Pakistan, has already arrived in the country. This includes a donation-in-kind of 10,000 N95 masks and 10,000 surgical masks to the Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi.
This donation-in-kind was handed over to the management of Aga Khan University Hospital here on Wednesday. The second batch is expected soon.
During its 9 years operation in Pakistan, ICBC Pakistan operations has grown to be one of the largest foreign bank and also No. 1 financial services provider for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects and relevant enterprises locally.
ICBC has been actively involved in community investment and activities related to corporate charity by providing facilities for education, donating for armed forces who sacrificed lives on duty, contributing in relief funds to support Pakistani people against flood disaster.
"ICBC will never leave the people of Pakistan alone in such trying and testing times and committed to further help to win the battle against Covid-19," the ICBC said.
