A meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Energy (CCoE) has decided that a decision on making the inquiry report on power sector public would be taken by the federal cabinet.
Sources on condition of anonymity stated that the CCoE meeting presided over by the Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Asad Umar on Monday was of the view that inquiry report on power sector should be made public and action must be taken against those involved but the final decision to this effect would be taken by the federal cabinet.
Sources said that as soon as a discussion on the inquiry report started, adviser to the prime minister on commerce and the special assistant on petroleum left the meeting, saying that they would like to "skip this agenda item in good faith" for being under discussion in the media.
