National Refinery Limited resumes operations after demand improvement
- The refinery informed that it will implement strict precautionary measures for the health and safety of its staff and to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
National Refinery Limited announced to resume its operations from Thursday (today) in wake of improvement in oil demand.
“This is to inform that in view of improvement in production demand for the remaining days of April and May 2020, the company has resumed refinery operations at a minimum throughout with effect from today, April 23, 2020,” read National Refinery Limited in its filing to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday.
The refinery informed that it will implement strict precautionary measures for the health and safety of its staff and to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Just weeks ago, the refinery announced that it is extending its shutdown duration. “Pursuant to the extended lockdown situation and reduced demand for petroleum products, the company has decided to continue with the temporary shutdown of production till the situation improves," the company said in a statement.
Earlier, DG Khan Cement Company Limited and Philip Morris Pakistan Limited announced to resume their operations, after relaxation from the government.
