THE RUPEE: Remains unchanged
Exchange rate of Pakistan rupee largely remained unchanged against major currencies on Thursday.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: Pakistan rupee gained 40 paisas against USD in Interbank market for buying while for selling it appreciated by 50 paisas closing at 159.60 and 160 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, value of rupee remained unchanged against USD for both buying and selling closing at 158.50 and 159.50 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR appreciated by 1 rupee for buying while remaining unchanged for selling closing at 170 and 172 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham and SAR, PKR did not show any change over yesterday's exchange rate. Against Dirham, it closed at 42 and 42.40 while against SAR, it closed at 40 and 40.5 for buying and selling respectively.
LAHORE
The Pak rupee continued to keep going up for the fourth consecutive day against the greenback in the local currency market on Thursday.
Amidst lack of buyers' interest in the market, the greenback remained under selling pressure for the fourth consecutive day and ended further lower for buying and selling at Rs 158.00 and Rs 159.50 against the overnight closing rate of Rs 158.50 and Rs 160.00 respectively, local currency dealers said.
Furthermore, the rupee-pound sterling parity stayed unchanged amid sluggish trading activity in the market. Consequently, the British currency ended at its opening trend for buying and selling at Rs 188.50 and Rs 190.50 respectively, they added.
