PIA is continuing its relief flight operations to various countries bringing back Pakistanis and transporting expatriates to their home countries; major flights planned ahead for return of Pakistanis.
On instructions of the Government of Pakistan, Aviation Division head by Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan has tasked PIA to mount additional flights on sectors from which there are reports that a number of Pakistanis are still stranded and needs to be brought back. Consequently, PIA has planned to operate special flights commencing from next week from Algeria, Khartoum, Nairobi, Jeddah, Oman, Zurich, Amsterdam and Turkey to rescue stranded Pakistanis on these locations.
It would be worth mentioning here that PIA is already operating relief flights to London, Birmingham, Manchester, Toronto, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur since April 03, 2020 after the suspension of flight operations consequent to the Corona outbreak.
It would be also worth mentioning here that PIA also went to destinations which were not part of PIA's regular network such as Chengdu in China, Dushanbe in Tajikistan, Tashkent in Uzbekistan, Baku in Azerbaijan, Baghdad in Iraq and Trabzone in Turkey.-PR
