PM's Ehsaas programme free from political interference: Sania Nishtar
- Sania says under the Ehsaas programme Sindh is receiving the highest amount, followed by Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
- Those people who are government employees or their spouses are employed by state will not be eligible for the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme: SAPM.
- Dr Zafar Mirza says "Yaraan-i-Watan" has been launched to enable overseas Pakistanis to help people in Pakistan in wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
(Karachi) Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation Dr Sania Nishtar has said that Prime Minister's Ehsaas programme is free from political interference.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Friday along with PTI leader Shehbaz Gill, she said: "Sindh is receiving the highest amount, followed by Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa."
She added, "The government has cleared the lists of Benazir Income Support Programme starting from 2010."
Nishtar maintained that those people who have applied for the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme will get a confirmation message within the next 15 days to collect the amount. She said the message will include the date on which they can collect the money from a designated centre only.
Dr Sania said that those people who are government employees or their spouses are employed by state will not be eligible for the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme. Besides, she highlighted that people who own a car or have high telephone bills will also not qualify for assistance.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to PM for Health Dr Zafar Mirza announced that a platform "Yaraan-i-Watan" has been launched to enable overseas Pakistanis to help people in Pakistan in wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
He said the aim to launch the platform is to make it easier for overseas Pakistanis to assist Pakistan in any way.
