(Karachi) Former Navy chief Admiral retired Muhammad Sharif has been laid to rest in Islamabad on Tuesday. Sharif had passed away in the federal capital late Monday.

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Abbasi, former chairman joint chiefs of staff committee and other officials attended the funeral of the late Navy commander. The Navy chief paid rich tributes to Sharif for his services for the country.

Floral wreaths were laid on behalf of CJCSC General Nadeem Raza and other army officials at the grave of former admiral.

Sharif has the honor of being the first four-star admiral of the Pakistan Navy and he had also served as the chairman joint chiefs of staff committee, the post in theory is the highest military position since the CJCSC is technically head of the three armed forces.
