The Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) cyber crime wing is unable to proceed against cyber criminals as Google and other social giants are not ready to provide cyber crime data to the agency.
Ayaz, an assistant director FIA said the agency could not track down unknown threatening or any other kind of emails involving criminality sent by cyber criminals from gmail as Google do not provide logging information to FIA.
"Thousands of people have lodged their online complaint to National Response Centre for Cyber Crime (NR3C) after receiving threatening or any other derogatory emails but we could not proceed against the criminal as Google do not share data with us," he said.
He said the cyber crime wing of FIA was facing several issues including non-provision of social media/web mail services data i.e. twitters, WhatsApp's and Google.
