The Government of Pakistan from next week is to start bringing stranded citizens from the Gulf countries, Dr Moeed Yusuf, special assistant to prime minister (SAPM) on National Security Division said.

Addressing a presser here on Wednesday, he said that not only from the Gulf countries but standard Pakistanis from Africa would also be brought back to the country.

He added that there was no restriction on outgoing flights from Pakistan and any person wanted to go somewhere Pakistani flights were going he was allowed to go.

Yusuf said that Pakistanis coming from abroad via airlines had to spend two days in isolation before conducting test for the Covid-19, and after a person has undergone coronavirus test he/she might spend up to four days in isolation.

While urging the people to cooperate with the concerned authorities, he said one might not have symptoms of the Covid-19 but the flight with which he traveled might have carried some people with Covid19 infections, therefore it was essential for the safety of the people to go for mandatory quarantine or self isolation.

Yusuf maintained that provinces had the right to adopt whatsoever necessary steps they reckoned for the safety of the masses. He said that the government was swiftly turning towards smart lockdown keeping in view the emerging situation in any area.

Qatar Airways has been allowed to start operations in Pakistan, so far a number of Qatar airways flights have arrived in the country, and within next week five more flights of the Qatar airways will reach Pakistan.

He said that the Government of Pakistan was to further relax import and export via Torkham and Chaman border with Afghanistan especially of essential items, similarly five bordering districts with Iran were also allowed to continue business activities with Iran with regard to essential commodities.

Pakistanis standard in Afghanistan and India will soon be brought back.

Pakistan has not stopped arrival and departure from ports.
