Two great actors of Bollywood - Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan - have died in recent days. Both died of cancer. Amitabh Bachchan, who was among the first to mourn Rishi's death, had aptly reflected the reaction of entire film industry and film viewers by saying that 'I'm destroyed'.
Irrfan would always be remembered for his highly impressive roles that he played in numerous movies. But his performance in Maqbool which was based on one of Shakespeare's classic plays Macbeth with regard to events and characterization was profoundly impressive. To me he has not died of colon cancer but he fell victim to machinations, intrigues and conspiracies that strongly characterised Maqbool. In other words, the roles played by him and others in the movie have entered our collective imagination.
Rishi Kapoor will always be remembered for his dexterity that he expressed through his acting in a series of roles in all the movies from Mera Naam Joker to Jhoota Kahin Ka. He had famously said: "I'm the son of a famous father & father of a famous son."
