The Punjab Agriculture Department (PAD) has invited applications from interested paddy growers to set up demonstration plots showing the latest technology for increasing the per acre yield under the prime minister's agricultural emergency programme worth Rs 4 billion for the rice sector.
Farmers from Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Mandi Bahauddin, Narowal, Hafiz Abad, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Faisalabad, Jhang, Chiniot, Okara and Bahawalnagar are eligible to participate in this programme under which each grower will be given Rs 30,000 per acre for setting up a display plot.
Growers sowing on one-acre plot for the last 14 years, having their land along the paved road or main road, should submit their applications till May 15, 2020, to the Assistant Director Agriculture (Extension) of their area concerned.
Application forms can be obtained from the divisional director agriculture, deputy director, assistant director or agriculture officers of the extension wing of the department. Forms can also be downloaded from the website of the provincial agriculture department or photocopy of the forms will also be admissible.
