Pakistan Rupee appreciated by a slight margin on Tuesday in both interbank and open markets. INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: Pakistan Rupee recorded no change in buying rate against USD while it went up by 50 paisas for selling closing at 159.50 and 160 for buying and selling respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR appreciated by 30 paisas for buying and by 70 paisas for selling closing at 159.20 and 159.80 respectively. Against Euro, PKR exchange rate did not change for buying while it appreciated by 50 paisas for selling closing at 171 and 172.50 for buying and selling respectively.
Against both UAE Dirham and SAR, PKR recorded no change with respect to yesterday's rates. Against AED, it closed at 42 and 42.50 while against SAR, it closed at 41 and 41.50 for buying and selling respectively.
LAHORE
The Pak rupee slightly improved its worth in relation to the greenback and British Pound in the local currency market on Tuesday.
According to currency dealers, the greenback opened at Rs 158.50 and Rs 161.50 on buying and selling sides, respectively, as against Rs 157.50 and Rs 160.00 on Monday. At the close, the dollar was traded at Rs 157.45 and Rs 160.00 on buying and selling, counters, respectively, the dealers added.
The local currency also improved its worth against British Pound. The Pound was traded at Rs 192.00 and Rs 196.90 on buying and selling sides, respectively, the dealers added.
ISLAMABAD
The value of dollar against the rupee remained unchanged at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Tuesday. The dollar opened at Rs159 (buying) and Rs 159.10(selling) against SAME last rate. It closed at Rs159(buying) and Rs 159.10(selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold were Rs 102,400 and Rs 102,000(buying) in the local Sarafa(gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
