The Punjab government laid The Punjab Infectious Diseases (Prevention and Control) Ordinance 2020, The Punjab Local Government (Amendment) Ordinances 2020, The Punjab Village Panchayats and Neighbourhood Councils (Amendment) Ordinance 2020, The Stamp (Amendment) Ordinance 2020, The Punjab Prevention of Hoarding Ordinance 2020, The Punjab Private Educational Institutions (Promotion and Regulation) (Amendment) Ordinance 2020 and The Code of Civil Procedure ( Punjab Amendment) Ordinance 2020 in the House on Friday.

The session of the assembly started one hour 40 minutes late under the chair of speaker Punjab Assembly Pervez Elahi.

Opposition members' lack of interest in their own convened meeting. Law minister Raja Basharat and Prosecution minister Ch Zaheer uddin attended the session.

Former Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique while speaking on the floor of the house criticise Punjab government for not providing safety equipment to the doctors and paramedics who were performing their duties in the corona wards of the public sector hospitals of the province. He also said government is not providing satisfactory health facilities to the patients in quarantine. He said government also failed to provide satisfactory health facilities to overseas Pakistani's.

Salman demanded that all the provinces should get equal share according to the National Finance Commission Award. He alleged that federal government is not fulfilling the needs of the Punjab government. He questioned that is the government of Punjab going to waive off the loans of small farmers.

PML (N) MPA Azmat Bukhari said that according to the latest figures the number of corona cases crossed 10, 000 in Punjab. She said according to World Health Organisation there should be no relaxation in lock down.

She questioned that government should ask from the Health department that where they had spent 11 billion rupees released by the Punjab government two months ago. She said that how many ventilators and medicines were brought by Health department from Rs 11 billion.

While responding to the criticism of the opposition members Health minister Pakistan People's Party MPA Makhdoom Usman Mahmood said that government had done nothing in the past eighteen months. He said whole world was affected with COVID 19 pendamic but unfortunately Prime Minister Imran Khan failed to play any positive role and failed to develop consensus among the nation regarding dealing with COVID 19.

Punjab Dr Yasmeen Rashid said that government is taking all steps to fight with COVID 19. She also said that government is providing allfacilities to the patients as well as providing personal protection equipments to the doctors and paramedics. She further said government is also increasing the testing capacity.
