National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has designated its Nadir House Branch for collection of duty and taxes from Monday (May 11). This was informed by the MCC Appraisement East in its letter sent to All Pakistan Customs Agents Association (APCAA).
According to the letter, the NBP has authorized the Nadir House Branch for WeBOC based Customs duties collection from May 11. It was further informed that the Nadir House Branch would only accept duties collection while PD and token payments would not be accepted at this branch.
Meanwhile, Arshad Jamal, chairman of the APCAA, lauded the efforts of the NBP management for designating the Nadir House Branch to facilitate the trade in the payments of duty and taxes and offered APCAA's full support to ensure all possible facilitation to the trade in performing legitimated duty and taxes.
He requested the authorities concerned to install sanitizer tunnels at the entry to bank branches and restrict entry without masks. Arshad Jamal further urged the authorities to place pay orders collection boxes at the bank branches where the importers and clearing agents could drop off their pay orders and bank staff could ensure collection of duty and taxes without human interaction and delays.
