Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said on Sunday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government does not believe in political victimization and stresses that the opposition should come one same page with the government to combat the spread of dreadful Covid-19.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of PTI leaders Mian Waheed, Chaudhry Khalid Mahmood Gujjar, Nadeem Butt and paint industry representative Mirza Asghar Chaudhry here at Governor's House.
The governor said all state institutions including NAB had been made apolitical and Prime Minister Imran Khan government's sole focus was on country's progress and prosperity. He said the business community was itself under severe economic stress but still helping out the poor and vulnerable families. "We will surely defeat the scourge of Covid-19, if we all will work hand-in-hand while strictly observing the SOPs with complete unity," he said.
He said the government had eased restrictions in the lockdown to offer relief to the business community. Now, he said, it was business community's responsibility to strictly implement and observe SOPs to save workers and customers from getting infected by the Covid-19. "The spread of epidemic is expected to see massive surge in the days to come," the governor warned.
Further, Sarwar Foundation has provided ration to 20,000 poor and deprived families and begun supply of ration for poor families in Azad Kashmir besides distribution of sanitizers and masks among masses.
On the other hand, PTI MNA Dr Semi Bukhari told the party workers that politics of PPP and PML-N has been ended and Prime Minister Imran Khan will fulfill all promises.
She said the opponents are criticizing NAB because they don't want NAB to question their corruption.
