Business activities resumed on Monday in Lahore after one and a half months closure due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Trading activities were resumed in major markets in Lahore including Mall Road, Hall Road, Anarkali, Urdu Bazar, Icchra, Abid Market, Town Ship market, Liberty, Defense, Brandreth Road, Macleod Road, Shah Alam Market and Circular Road.

According to the notification, big shopping malls and educational institutions in Punjab will remain closed. Barber shops, beauty parlours and gymnasiums are allowed to open for four days a week. All grocery stores, tandoors and general stores will remain open from 9 am to 5 pm throughout the week.

However, a complete lockdown will be imposed from Friday to Sunday in the province. Marriage halls, marquees, public transport, concerts and sports activities will be banned till May 31. The small markets and shops were allowed to resume their businesses on the condition of following Standard Operating Procedures announced by the government.
