All Pakistan Anjuman Tajran's Central Secretary General Naeem Meer has urged the government to allow seven days a week working to retail markets of all the cities. He said that the district administrations should prepare lists of specific retail markets of every city which should be allowed working the whole of the week. Monitoring committees comprising traders' representatives and police officers should be notified at police station level which should be assigned the task of ensuring implementation of SOPs notified by the government.
While addressing a press conference at the Lahore Press Club (LPC) here on Tuesday, he said that these committees should take action against violators of SOPs without any discrimination. He said that every market should also be given a contingent of tiger force volunteers who should assist in keeping the flow of traffic in the markets and keeping parking stands in order.
