Pakistan on Tuesday strongly condemned the latest terrorist attacks in Afghanistan, killing dozens of people in two separate attacks including a maternity hospital in Kabul, and a funeral in Nangarhar province.
"Pakistan strongly condemns the inhuman and cowardly terrorist attack on a medical facility in Kabul and suicide attack on a funeral in Nangarhar province, resulting in the loss of so many precious lives," Foreign Office spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said.
She added that those terrorist acts were particularly despicable as they took place in the holy month of Ramazan, and at a time when Afghanistan was grappling with the Covid-19 pandemic.
Farooqui added that Pakistan condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and would continue to support a peaceful and stable Afghanistan.
"We extend heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the families of victims and prayers for early recovery for those injured. Our thoughts and prayers are also with the Afghan people in this hour of grief," she added.
Afghan media reported that at least 14 people including children and their mothers were killed in the morning attack on a maternity hospital in Dasht-e-Barchi area of Kabul.
In another attack in which a funeral prayer was targeted in Nangarhar, killed at least 21 and 55 others were wounded.
