Pakistan during the past 24 hours has recorded 43 Covid-19 deaths the highest since coronavirus outbreak in the country, according to the data released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), here on Tuesday.

According to the NCOC the total confirmed corona cases in Pakistan have jumped to 32,820, while the corona-related deaths climbed to 734 from 691.

Following the government decision to ease lockdown restrictions in the country, majority of the private offices in the twin cities of Rawalpindi/Islamabad excluding educational institutes, travel agents, restaurants and transportation have opened.

Other than mini buses, wagons and buses; private taxis, carry vans, rickshaws and other means of private transport have also started full fledged operations in the cities, which according to health professionals can result in mass spread of the Covid-19.

It is observed that in most parts of the twin cities, and adjacent areas of the Punjab, routine life has returned, as majority of the people have resumed normal activities without taking any precautionary measures.

Health professionals, while denouncing government policy to deal with the Covid-19 have said that apparently the government has adopted herd immunity system, allowing the people to catch as much coronavirus as they can, people with better immunity will survive and those weak will fall prey to the virus.

On Tuesday, Sindh and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Punjab, Balochistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan registered new Covid-19 deaths, which took the nationwide death toll to 734 from 691.
