  • “A rice delegation from Mexico will hopefully be coming in June or July 2020 to appraise various rice exporters for giving them permission for exporting rice to Mexico," says Dawood.

Advisor to Prime Minister for Commerce and Investment Abdul Razzak Dawood has said that a rice delegation from Mexico will be visiting Pakistan in June or July, which could pave the way for Pakistani rice to enter Mexico markets.

“A rice delegation from Mexico will hopefully be coming in June or July 2020 to appraise various rice exporters for giving them permission for exporting rice to Mexico,” informed Dawood in a tweet post.

Dawood further appealed to the members of the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) to prepare themselves for this visit so that the maximum number of exporters get approval. “As we all know, rice export to Mexico has been held up for some time and after this visit, I am hopeful that our rice will be able to enter the Mexican market,” he added.

The advisor also congratulated FerozeSons Labs on concluding a licensing agreement with Gilead Inc of the USA for manufacturing their Remdesivir drug in Pakistan and becoming one of the just five companies around the globe that will be free to export this drug to 127 countries

“This agreement is an important step in the development of our pharmaceutical industry and diversification of our exports. FerozeSons Labs makes us all feel proud of this achievement,” he said.
