FAISALABAD: Punjab Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that a new era of public welfare and development has begun in the province by steps taken under the special development program of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.

Addressing a public meeting at Rasalawala here on late Monday, the minister said that the Punjab government believes on peoples' welfare and utilizing its resources to complete different uplift and public welfare schemes in the province.

The minister said that funds amounting Rs5 million had been allocated for construction of roads, Rs3.5 million for sewerage, Rs2.6 million for repair and maintenance of streets and Rs0.5 million for development and renovation of a park in the area.

He said that an amount of Rs1.4 million had been spent on construction of boundary wall of graveyards in the area' Rs33 million were spent on completion of a college road and Rs7 million on construction of new class rooms at Government Girls High School.

Likewise, inner roads of Ayyub Research were constructed at a cost of Rs6.2 million while the construction of maun bazaar no 2 Ayyub Colony was completed with Rs3.5 million and many other projects including sewerage were in pipeline.

Sanaullah said that a mini-stadium for providing sports facility to youth is being developed at a cost of Rs4 million.

The residents of Rasalawala Abadi No 12 will soon get ownership rights as the process of providing ownership rights is in final stage, he concluded.
