Advisor to KP CM on Information and Public Relations Ajmal Khan Wazir has said that in wake of reduction in the prices of petroleum products the provincial government has reduced fares of public transport by 18 to 25 percent.

Briefing media here Monday, he said that instructions for the implementation of the decision have been issued to both transport authorities and to transporters of the province.

The advisor informed that a fresh list of the fares has been issued by the provincial government after the petroleum prices were reduced adding that the violators will be severely punished. He informed that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) have been circulated where distancing would be ensured adding that people will board vehicles from the back doors and exit on the front doors where distance between the passengers will be ensured.

He said that all the vehicles must be disinfected and all passengers must be checked with a thermal gun adding that bus station management will ensure the availability of soap and sanitizer at terminals besides social distance between passengers.

The advisor informed that only vehicles with permits would be allowed which will be parked at a distance of 5 meters from each other at marked places so that there would be no rush adding that temperature of all bus drivers and crew members should be checked prior to starting their duty besides it would be mandatory for them to wear masks and gloves. The conductor will sanitize hands of passengers, he informed.

All passengers must wear a mask before boarding the vehicle and no one will be allowed without a mask and use marked seat in order to minimise the risks of corona, he informed and added that fight against coronavirus was going on according to the vision of the PM Imran Khan and under leadership of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan. While talking about those affected by the lockdown, the advisor informed that funds were being distributed among deserving people adding that the entire cabinet was on ground to protect the people from corona.
