A picture of a PIA flight showing facemask-wearing passengers and cabin crew carried by Business Recorder in its Sunday's issue is a strong reflection of a meaningful ease in almost two-month-long lockdown across the country. PIA has claimed that its aircraft are being thoroughly disinfected before departure of flights and that it is strictly following government regulations of social distancing.
That no country in the world can impose an indefinite lockdown is a fact. After all, coronavirus is not going to go away anytime soon; nor is its cure in sight at least at this point in time. We have no option but to live with it with courage and discipline. Having said that, I wish to make it clear that it is true that gradual reopening of economy is important, but strict observance of coronavirus-related SOPs by people is not less important.
