Sindh Information Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Tuesday vehemently opposed the demand for governor's rule in Sindh.

The minister said our opponents are saying that the PPP government in Sindh had teardown every sector, but the reality was totally different. He said there had been record development in every sector in Sindh and these people did not want further development in the province that's why they were talking about removing an elected government and imposing governor's rule.

Nasir Shah said it was not so easy to impose governor's rule in Sindh, and if this was done, the consequences would be far reaching. he said the people of Sindh were with their constitutionally elected government and they would not tolerate any unconstitutional step. The minister said whatever the honorable Supreme Court had ordered regarding the lockdown would be followed. He said the Sindh government following the advice of PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, not only consulted the top medical experts of the country who were also the part of the task force formed on Feb 26 when the first case of Coronavirus emerged in the province, but also reviewed the standards set by the World Health Organization before imposing the lockdown in Sindh.

The provincial information minister said although it was a very difficult decision, but in view of the Sindh government, saving the lives of people was imperative, and the government did not want to compromise on it. He said the decisions of Sindh government were appreciated, supported and encouraged all over the world.

Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said apart from being the policy of PPP, it was clear directive of Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari that everyone should work together on any national issue and support the federal government. The minister said that's why the Sindh government had been saying since the first day of Covid-19 outbreak that a national policy should be formulated on this issue and the prime minister should lead. He said it was beyond comprehension that following every meeting with the PM in which everyone reached to a consensus, the ministers and advisers of the federal government started hurling criticism at the Sindh government.

Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said it was also noted that only Sindh govt came under criticism, while no one criticised any other provincial government for whatever they did. He said following the orders of the honorable Supreme Court, all the shopping malls and markets would be reopened with the necessary precautionary measures. He also appealed to the people to take all precautionary measures as caution can prevent them from the epidemic.

Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said it was the responsibility of everyone to follow the SOPs, adding that Sindh government would continue to play its role in this regard.

The minister also urged all opposition parties to take a united stand on national policies. He said PTI was fortunate to have an experienced opposition which fully supported it on all national issues. Syed Nasir Hussain Shah further said India had always had a policy of making accusations against Pakistan.
