DC registers FIR against 5 shopkeepers for overcharging

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali registered FIR against 5 shopkeepers for over charging of fruits and other essential items. On some complaints of public regarding overcharging Deputy Commissioner suddenly went to various markets, bazaars and public points at Samanabad, Satyana road, Batala Colony and other localities and reviewed the prices and quality of fruits, vegetables, meat and other commodities.
Ac Sadar Umar Maqbool and District Health Officer Dr. Bilal Ahmed also accompanied him.
He inquired about the price and quality of fruits, vegetables and meat while talking to the consumers for purchase and said that the district administration was active in preventing overcharging and price control magistrates have been assigned the task in this regard.
He said that heavy fines were being levied on the recipients of cases and cases were being registered against them. He warned the shopkeepers to avoid over charging otherwise they would be behind the bar.
