KP government may tighten lockdown, warns CM's aide
Adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Information, Ajmal Wazir Khan here on Tuesday warned of further tightening the lockdown if the SOPs were not fully followed by masses or cases of corona pandemic would increase in upcoming days.
Ajmal Wazir Khan said if precautionary measures are taken, the virus can be eradicated but in case they are ignored and the virus starts spreading, the government will be compelled to take tough decisions.
He was talking to the media here. The CM aide said the lockdown was eased keeping in view the economic situation of the people, not because the virus was no longer a threat. He urged people to be careful, maintain social distancing and avoid going to large public places because the virus is still very dangerous.
The Minister also criticized opposition leaders saying that those who preached from their drawing rooms are nowhere to be seen today. He said a leader is one who leads from the front line yet the opposition leaders are yet to visit any hospital. He said even on the Eid occasion, government representatives are working and serving the people.
CM's adviser said we are deeply saddened by the Karachi plane crash and extend our heartfelt condolences to deceased families. He said fighting on the front line against Covid-19 epidemic, KP Chief Secretary Dr Kazim Niaz tested positive for the Covid-19.
Ajmal Wazir said we have to defeat the epidemic in any case and for us lives of people are more precious than ours and we can celebrate many such Eids after defeating Covid-19 but now, the measures taken by the government against Covid-19 have to be followed.
Pointing towards the political opponents, he said the people cannot be served from drawing rooms. He said till date not a single political opponent could come out against the Covid-19. He said in these circumstances we have a leader like Imran Khan and under his able leadership we will defeat the pandemic.
Wazir appealed to the journalist community to fulfill their responsibilities and inform the people about the spread of this deadly virus. He said all the tourist spots in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been closed for tourists.
