KP business community demands ending of lockdown
The business community in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa here on Friday demanded ending of the lockdown and allowing of businesses to remain open 24/7 across the province. The demand was made during a video link meeting held here under the chairmanship of the SCCI president, Engineer Maqsood Anwar Pervaiz.
Traders' leaders, industrialists and businessmen attached with the retail sector participated in the meeting. The participants asked the government to release payment of refunds on head of income tax to business community without any further delay. They urged the government to formulate business-friendly policies.
The participants demanded 24/7 opening of the Pak-Afghan border and removal of hurdles in way of bilateral and transit trade between the two neighbouring countries.
The participants said that if the government didn't pay heed to their demands, they wound announce future course of action during a press conference which would be organized under the auspices of the SCCI on June 2 (Tuesday) at the chamber house.
They said the business community had fully extended its cooperation to the government during the lockdown and was ready to continue its support for government's initiatives to contain the pandemic in the province.
