farooq ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Law Minister Farooq H. Naek met with the British Pakistani lawyers at Pakistan High Commission (PHC) in London where he gave a detailed briefing on judicial and constitutional processes of the country.

A large number of British Pakistani lawyers, barristers and solicitors, and representatives of media were present on the occasion, says a press release received here today from London.

The Law Minister said that Pakistan was passing through a critical phase of its history where various state institutions were evolving and developing.

"With the continuity of democratic system all the institutions would evolve and work within their spheres smoothly," he said.

The Law Minister appreciated active participation of Pakistani Diaspora in British politics which was one of the most crucial factors for mainstreaming of the Pakistani community in various spheres of life.

At the occasion, Pakistan High Commissioner to UK Wajid Shamsul Hasan underlined the importance of democracy for Pakistan and emphasized the need of strengthening state institutions.

The discussion was moderated by Mr Farhan Farani of Farani Taylor Solicitors, while Ms Fifi Haroon journalist organized the event. The event concluded at a question and answer session.
