Kareena and Priyanka – The Showdown

KARACHI: After competing for the role of ‘Leela’ in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Ram Leela’, Bollywood’s two biggest starlets Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra are now vying for the lead role in Karan Johar’s production ‘Immortals of Meluha’.

Johar has acquired the rights for the famous novel by the same name. The book tells the story of Shiva, a Tibetan immigrant who discovers his destiny in the Kingdom of Meluha. It was written by Indian Author Amish Tripathi.

According to media sources, the role of Shiva will be played by Hrithik Roshan, while the role of Sati is still up for grabs.

Sources added that the director put forward the names: Vidya Balan, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and many others, but now Chopra and Kapoor appear to be the top contenders for the highly-coveted role.

Both Kapoor and Chopra are said to be extremely close to Johar. But as the old idiom goes, ‘business is business.’
