KARACHI: Former Pink Floyd Singer and Songwriter Roger Waters' tour has outsold Madonna and Bruce Springsteen to become the top-selling live act of 2012.
The singer’s tour in America and Canada titled ‘The Wall’ has sold more than 1.4 million tickets globally earning 158 million dollars.
While Waters has still to continue with the tour to maintain this record, Queen of Pop Madonna and the Boss Bruce Springsteen sit in second and third place respectively. There exists the possibility the two stars can overtake Waters if they announce more destinations as part of their global tour.
Lady Gaga, Coldplay and Beatle Paul McCartney, have also toured this year and have helped push ticket sales for the 100 largest American concerts up 1.2 percent, selling a record 18.6 million tickets and generating a whopping 1.1 billion dollars.
