Ranbir Kapoor replaces Hrithik Roshan in Shekhar Kapoor’s ‘Paani’

KARACHI: The latest buzz around Bollywood is that Director Shekhar Kapoor has replaced Hrithik Roshan from his upcoming project “Paani” with Ranbir Kapoor.

According to media sources, "Shekhar Kapoor had gone to Rajasthan where Ranbir was shooting for Ayaan Mukherji's ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ with Deepika Padukone, to speak to the actor about a fantasy film called ‘Mantra’. But since the script of the film was not even ready, Ranbir rejected the offer."

Sources added that when Kapoor read the script for Paani, he expressed his interest in the film and Kapoor (director) offered him the lead role on the spot.

Sources further added that for quite some time now, Kapoor’s ‘Paani’ has remained in limbo because of his search for the perfect male lead. Originally, Vivek Oberoi was slated to play the lead as because Roshan and Kapoor were both unavailable.
