Marvel dons headlines at Comic-Con with big announcements

KARACHI: Marvel captivated audiences at this year’s Comic-Con festival in San Diego, by revealing the titles for the Thor and Captain America sequels. According to sources the upcoming blockbusters will be titled “Thor: The Dark World” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” respectively.
In addition to revealing the titles, Marvel also announced two new projects in the works. The first being “Guardian of the Galaxy” and the second an Ant-Man movie. Guardians of the Galaxy features Rocket Racoon, Star-Lord, Draxx the Destroyer, Groot and Gamora and is slated for release in August of 2014.
The event also saw a 30-second screening for Ant-Man. It depicted the protagonist of the film going from big to small while battling two security guards simultaneously.
Edgar Wright, Director of the forthcoming Ant-Man film was also present at Comic-Con. He was reported to have taken Terrence Malick’s approach for his super-hero films i.e. concentrating on a single project at a time. About the Ant-Man Wright was quoted as saying, "Ant-Man will kick your ass, one inch at a time."
The announcements were made on the panel, which was thought to be dedicated to the highly-anticipated Iron Man 3.
