Rihanna turns Designer

KARACHI: Pop Star Rihanna is set to launch her own fashion line for British high-street mega-brand ‘River Island’.

The ‘We Found Love’ Singer confirmed the news saying, “I’ve been wanting to design my own collection for some time. I find London really inspiring and River Island loves to have fun with clothes. River Island is the perfect partner for me to collaborate with and working with a British, family run business also really appealed to me. I’m looking forward to working with them and creating something really special.”

River Island’s Chief Executive Ben Lewis is thrilled to be collaborating with the singer. “Rihanna is a style icon; from street to chic she enjoys her fashion. As soon as we started to work together we knew this was a perfect fit,” he said.

He further revealed that clothing and accessories in the range have yet to be finalized, but that the range will reflect the star’s ‘street to chic’ style.

Rihanna’s first capsule collection will debut in spring 2013.
