Oprah Winfrey sells home at a loss for $2.75mn

KARACHI: Oprah Winfrey has sold her Chicago, Illinois home. The media tycoon's
Streeterville-area apartment was purchased in the American city recently for $2.75 million.

However she has sold her apartment at a loss for $2.75million. The star originally bought
the place for $5.6 million six years ago.

But due to the slump in the local property market, she was forced to reduce the asking price
by half of what she had paid earlier.

Winfrey’s former sixth floor apartment spans over 4,607 square-feet and featured views of Lake
Michigan, three-bedrooms, two fireplaces, a library, a butler’s pantry, a 1,241 square-foot
master bedroom and a solarium.

Apparently, she never moved in or lived there.

The former daytime talk show host owns other Chicago properties that she resided in, but
currently spends her time at her $50 million Montecito, California Estate.

Earlier this month she purchased her father Vernon's barbershop out of foreclosure.

The star also has a farmhouse in Kula, Hawaii, a holiday home in Antigua, a property by the
shore in Lavallette, New Jersey, a ski chalet in Telluride, Colorado, and a home in
Douglasville, Georgia.

And, to top it, all she also has a $42 million private jet to travel between them too.
