KARACHI: The reciprocal Pakistan-India series is likely to be played in England.

Pakistan and India had been considering several options including the series being played in India and neutral venues. But now, England has emerged as the potential venue for the series following the reluctance of India to visit Pakistan.

After the 2009 terrorist attack on the touring Sri Lankan team in Pakistan, no country is ready to play on Pakistani soil owing to which the Pakistani team was forced to play at neutral venues such as UAE.

However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) objected to play in UAE due to its reputation as a hub of illegal betting.

So far, the England option has been the most viable one as arrangements and television proceeds can be worked out and also security is not as daunting a task as it might be elsewhere.
