KARACHI: Mayor of London Boris Johnson believes the city is a perfect place for the Olympics and promised that Olympics 2012 will generate long term returns for the capital.
Johnson said: “Last night Jacques Rogge, the President of the International Olympic Committee, stood up and said that London was as well prepared as any Olympic city he'd ever seen at this stage.”
According to media sources, Mayor said that the preparations had gone smoothly; despite some recent problems which have included private security firm G4S. He admitted that he would not be able to provide enough staff for the Games.
He further added, “You can’t play them down; on the other hand what you can do is try to set them in context and try to show people that actually each problem, individually, is being very well taken care of.”
Sources added that Johnson also suggested the Games would provide a big economic enhancement to the capital.
He said that Olympics 2012 will generate the world’s great businesses with a fantastic opportunity of investments across London.
London Olympics 2012 are scheduled to commence from July 27.
